Description
Originally from Thousand Oaks, I moved to San Diego North County to follow a life-long dream to work with service dogs. Unfortunately, this dream didn't work out the way I had planned. Although I loved what I was doing, and the people and dogs I worked with, the cards just weren't there for me and I decided to not work with service dogs. However, I did decide to stay in lovely sunny San Diego County :)I picked myself back up and after some soul-searching and coming to terms with what had happened. I am now proudly moving forward in life again. I have just launched my website for my own private dog training business. Things feel promising and I have great outlook on my future business. I'm a fun loving girl who has a huge passion for life. As a firm believer in the power of positive thinking, what energy you put out into the universe will come back to you. Fun is essential for me and is exactly why I do what I love! As a young girl I of course have always loved dogs. My mom, being a dog lover herself taught me her "ways" when I was little. My family and I began raising guide dogs for the blind when I was 8 years old. This experience not only taught me about the joy of giving back, but that I wanted to pursue a career helping people and their canine companions. In college I attended a very unique school not too far from me in Moorpark, California. The Exotic Animal Training and Management program is a hands-on school that has students work with a variety of different animals. I had the opportunity to work with everything from a macaw to a mountain lion. It was one of the most challenging and amazing experiences I have ever had the pleasure of doing. Not only was I learning about how to care for a collection of over 150 different species, but how to train and educate the public about animals as well. Although I have only been in North County since August, I have yet to explore everything and am very excited to do so! I just need someone to explore it with! Of course I NEED to go to the San Diego Zoo and Wildlife Park, Seaworld etc. but I enjoy just going out for a good time with good friends and having a couple laughs. Stand-up comedy is something I'm a huge fan of because laughter is a really great form of medicine (I know "they" say the best medicine, but therapy dogs are great too ;) ) I'm actually pretty witty and enjoy a good amount of banter from time to time. I really like the beach and sadly haven't even touched it since I moved. This needs to be changed as well. I'm not a huge fan of the water but find it very relaxing and peaceful.
