I'm a 42-year-old father, military history author, and aspiring singer who has spent most of his life in Shasta County.I've had two books published, and many more on the way. Not best sellers- they're on military and political biography- but I enjoy the research and writing that go into them.Musical tastes include: U2, Depeche Mode, REM, The Smiths/Morrissey, Oingo Boingo, New Order, The Cure, Liz Phair, 10,000 Maniacs, The Eagles, Bob Seger. Also classical, particularly Mozart and Aaron Copland. I enjoy singing, and do fair impressions of Johnny Cash, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, and others. I have returned to karaoke after a long hiatus; never did it much in the past, and it was always the same couple of Johnny Cash classics - Now I'm sort of addicted to it, broadening my scope somewhat, and can be heard singing Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Eagles, Matchbox 20, and many more to come.TV: "Breaking Bad", "NYPD Blue", "True Detective", "Law and Order", "The Walking Dead", "Boardwalk Empire", "Band of Brothers", etc.Movies: Too many to list, but among my favorites are: "Once Upon a Time in America", "Apocalypse Now", "Schindler's List", "When Harry Met Sally", "Groundhog Day", "There Will Be Blood", "Das Boot", "The Godfather (1 & 2)", "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction", etc.Favorite authors: Steinbeck, Hemingway, Orwell, Wambaugh, Wouk, and Stephen King, among many others whose names aren't occurring to me right now.What I seek is an attractive woman of any age between 30 and 50. Not particularly picky, but a pretty face is sort of essential. One who does not expect me to be her "Knight in Shining Armor" but who simply wants to hang out and possibly more. A woman with a sense of humor, who can tolerate my sometimes dark sense of humor. A woman of intelligence, preferably a reader, who is compassionate, tolerant (in no way bigoted), open-minded, objective, passionate, sensual...I'm very openminded, nonjudgmental, and willing to try new things (unless those things are whitewater rafting, mountain climbing, skydiving, bungee jumping, smoking/snorting/injecting controlled substances, or anything else that might put me at risk of dying earlier than I'm supposed to and leaving my son with no father. Only son of a single mother, father ran off to become a Scientologist; but I assure you, I don't have "mommy issues".I served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in southern Europe, from 1989 to '93.I love to drive and have an incredibly reliable truck (2008 Tacoma) with which I recently traveled from FL to CA- over 3,000 miles (prior to that, the longest I'd ever driven in a single stretch was maybe 250 miles).
